“My art piece in the beginning represents the present and how events turn out to be. These events lead to four tombstones with different names of black men who were killed within prison system, from not receiving the help they needed to survive. The bottom half shows the future many years from now. It highlights how different Black men are perceived in this new society. They’re no longer looks down on and branded as thugs, but as businessmen, graduates, doctors, and teachers. The text bubbles serve as a way to show how many years left for Black men to  live. The future will revolve around technology– like it does now– but a lot more advance.”
