“For this art piece, I took a more abstract approach to show black people surpassing all intellectual capacities. This piece demonstrated a Black person meditating under a pyramid which symbolizes one’s while being is being revitalized, almost like a rebirth or awakening. In this state, they are fortified mentally beyond measures and their power is unfathomable. Also, in place of the person’s head is a yellow sun with a third eye inside which symbolizes a high state of enlightenment and higher consciousness. Here the name, breaking walls to show envision an afrofuturistic future whereby Black people are not only breaking barriers in education but also surpassing all knowledgeable.”
