Through the help of United Way Greater Newark, The Gem Project went through the instructors’ training to become certified to deliver Youth Mental Health First Aid, a certification that is good for 3 years. This training is ideal for adults who work with or come in contact with youth: educators, after-school programs, counselors, etc. The Gem Project will deliver 12 in-person, virtual, or hybrid sessions in 2024.
At the top of the year, The Gem Project will be at FOCUS Hispanic Center for Community Development, Inc., training 15 of their after-school staff across from three of their schools.
